Obituary of Laura Conforti

Laura Conforti, 97, of Jackson passed away at home on Sunday, November 12, 2017.  She was born, raised, and had lived in the Bronx before settling in Jackson in 1994.  Laura and her husband, Frank, operated the family business, Frank Mittermeier Inc., selling wood carving tools and gunsmith supplies for over 30 years until their retirement in 1993.  She also worked as a seamstress for a private dress maker in New York City before becoming a homemaker.  Laura enjoyed cooking, baking, and traveling in her retirement. 

Laura was predeceased by her brothers, Pete, Frank, and Nick Laterza; a sister, Sadie Laterza; and a son-in-law, Orin Meybohn. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Frank Conforti of Jackson; daughters, Anne Marie Meybohn of Farmingdale and Grace LaForge and her husband, Larry of Green Brook; grandchildren, Orin Meybohn, Jr. of Jackson, Laura Blustein of Farmingdale, Frank Meybohn of Farmingdale, Allison Reed and her husband, Foster of Freehold, and Geoffrey LaForge and his wife, Kristen of Scotch Plains; great grandchildren, Noah and Cassie; a sister, Vivian Manfrini of Freehold; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 9:30 AM for the procession to her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Aloysius Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson, NJ 08527.  Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C.
