Obituary of Olympia Portobello

Olympia Portobello, 91, of Jackson Township passed away at home on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Olympia lived in Staten Island for some time before settling here in 2006.  A member of the Four Seasons of South Knolls Women’s Club, she loved shopping, bingo and playing cards. Olympia’s signature look was wearing leopard print, whether it was clothing, jewelry or pocketbooks.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Olympia was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Portobello in 1982.  She is survived by her children, Vincent Portobello and his wife, Anna of Jackson, Gary Portobello and his wife, Terry of Staten Island, NY, and Jodi McKnight and her husband, Dennis of San Diego, CA; and six grandchildren, Danielle Albano and her husband, Drew of Millstone, Michele Portobello of Staten Island, NY Joseph Portobello and his wife, Elaina of Staten Island, NY Vincent Portobello of Staten Island, NY,  Nina Trotter and her husband, Will of San Diego, CA, and Erin McKnight of San Diego, CA; and four great grandchildren, Andrew, Alexandra, Victoria and Joseph.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM Funeral Mass on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Blessed Sacrament Church, Manor Road, Staten Island, NY.  Interment will follow in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
