Obituary of Fredric J. Hasner

Fredric Hasner, 65, of Howell passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 13, 2023.  Fred was born and raised in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn.  He had lived in Staten Island until moving to Howell in 2003.  Fred started as a bus driver and retired as a dispatcher supervisor for the MTA.  He had a passion for music, from Santana to Bob Dylan to Bob Marley to Bruce.  Fred loved rock n’ roll.  Most recently, he was building model trucks and cars, putting baseball stadium puzzles together, and doing crossword puzzles.  Fred relished his time traveling to cigar lounges and hanging out with friends and family either in the garage or at the pool. 

Fred was predeceased by his parents, Saul and Leah Hasner.  He is survived by his wife, Gayleen; two children, Samantha and Brandon; his two brothers, Jeff Hasner and his wife, Lauri and Brian Hasner; mother-in-law, Jen Rabinowitz; his faithful canine companion, Ryder; and many dear friends.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM with his funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM.  Interment will be private.  The family will observe shiva at their home on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 and Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
