Obituary of Shirley A. Shuberda

Shirley A. Shuberda, 78, of Freehold Township passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was raised in Spotswood and lived in Sayreville before settling in Freehold in 1978. Shirley was a dedicated secretary at Future Electric for 10 years, where she was known for her efficiency and attention to detail. She was an incredible homemaker, known for her perfect meals and impeccable home organization. Shirley ran her household like clockwork, ensuring that everything was always in its place and running smoothly. She was truly a master of her craft, with a knack for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in her home. Her attention to detail and dedication to perfection was unmatched, and she took great pride in her ability to effortlessly juggle the demands of her household. In her free time, Shirley enjoyed gardening and had a special love for birds, particularly cardinals and hummingbirds. She  could often be found tending to her flowers or watching the birds in her yard. Shirley was also an avid Scrabble player, always up for friendly competition. Her true pride and joy, however, was her family. Shirley made every holiday and birthday special with her thoughtful gestures. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, always putting others before herself.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Katherine Klich; brother, Charles Klich and sister, Lois Anthony. Shirley is survived by her husband, John Shuberda of Freehold Township; three children, William Shuberda and his wife, Michele of Jackson, Kevin Shuberda and his wife, Leanna of Barnegat  and Brenda Broder and her husband, Dean of West Palm Beach Florida; nine grandchildren, Jenna Shuberda and her husband, Steven Vitale, Joseph Bones and his wife, Rebecca, Kenneth Bones, Tyler Broder, Stephani Broder, Samantha Broder, Justin Broder, Andrew Shuberda and Nicholas Shuberda; three great grandchildren, Adam Bones, Ryan Bones and Connor Bones; sister, Judy Layeski and her husband, Richard; and brothers, Kenneth Klich and Thomas Klich and his wife, Neila.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Friday, January 31, 2025. Interment will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, One Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood. Memorial Contributions in Shirley’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis Tennessee 38105.
