Obituary of Eleanor May Feith

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, Eleanor May Feith, loving wife and mother passed away at the age of 86.

Eleanor was born on July l 7, 1938 in Staten Island, New York to Harry and Mary Rogers. She attended local Grammar Schools and then entered Port Richmond High School. Upon graduation, she worked for Manufacturers Trust Company in New York City. When she met her future husband in 1956 she started another job working as a Secretary for Croll Reynolds Engineering, New York City.

Married on October 25, 1958 in the Reformed Church of Mariners Harbor, Staten Island, N. Y., the reception was held at the Columbian Club located at Richmond Terrace and Westervelt Ave. This became a historic building, now known as the Pavilion on the Terrace.

They had two children, Robert Jr., and Gary while still living in Staten Island. In 1963 Staten Island was becoming busy with the completion of the Verrazano Bridge. Eleanor and her husband moved to Howell Township, New Jersey.

While living here they had two more children, Paul and Karen. Eleanor was smart, intelligent, and considerate of others. She taught Sunday School and for a while was an insurance sales representative for a local agency. She also worked as a Secretary for a photo processing facility in Freehold.

In 1979 her husband started Argonaut Services, an investigative agency. Eleanor worked as the Manager.

She loved to travel and visited the Bahamas, St. Martin, Jamaica, St. Lucia, as well as Hawaii and Florida. She also went to Austria, Germany, Italy and Scotland. Smaller excursions she enjoyed included Mohonk House, Lake Placid, Williamsburg, and similar venues in NJ and PA.

After retirement, she and her husband moved to Jackson, NJ.

She was the one who cared about everybody. If she could help in any way, she was there.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Mary (Mac) Rogers; along with her sister Jeanne Settanni. She suffered a great loss with the demise of her son, Robert Jr. in 2013.

She is survived by her children, Paul and his wife Lorraine; their two children, Cassandra and Melanie.

Also surviving are Karen and her husband, Robert; their two children, Brandon and Nicole. Her son Gary and his wife, Anne; their two children, Breanna and Erin.

Surviving also is Roberts’ only daughter, Ashley.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:30 with her funeral service to begin at 4:30 PM.
