Condolences
We met at seminary but quickly became intertwined in ministry in South Jersey for our youth groups.
Ray and I also shared the loving and joy-filled experience of having a child who lived with challenges. It seemed that Matthew was always with Ray, which truly showcased the loving heart that Ray had.
Ray’s laugh could shake a church hall making everyone around him smile. His faith could inspire those who were wondering about God and his caring heart demonstrated that his call to ministry was truly from God.
I was saddened to hear of his passing. In recent years we only spotted each other at Annual Conferences or other church meetings but I will always remember connecting with Ray back at Wesley!
You served God by caring for God’s people …. You did it well!
We all loved and miss Ray very much. God called him back to his kingdom. He was a wonderful man here on earth and now is being welcomed in God Kingdom.
Psalms 23:4
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
God Bless you all The Schumacher family
To Joanne, Melanie and family. So very saddened to learn Ray has left this earthly world. We were blessed to have his spiritual guidance during the his years of ministry at Pinelands UMC. It was our pleasure to get to know you, Ray and Mathew at that time. May you find Peace and Comfort during these difficult days

Joanne, That was a beautiful obituary about Ray. He lived a wonderful life and made a great family with you and your kids. God will watch over him until we are all reunited one day. God Bless.
Fondly remember Ray and the Schmeling family from their years at Farmingdale Methodist. He then was sent out from here to enter the ministry. Love and condolences to Joanne, Melanie and the entire Schmeling family. Anne Willuweit and family.
