
Obituary of Laura A. Gier
Heaven gained an angel. Laura A. (Nee Salerno) Gier, 79, of Freehold Township passed away on February 15, 2025, peacefully in her home surrounded by her children. She was raised in West New York and enjoyed fifteen years in Kings Park Long Island before settling in Freehold in 1985. Laura worked as an administrative assistant at Ansell, Rhodia, and Perstorp. Her greatest accomplishment and joy were her family. Laura was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of the theater group at the Villages, where she shared her enthusiasm for being on the stage with others. Laura was a parishioner at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and lector. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she found great joy in serving her community through her church.
She is predeceased by her son, David Gier. Laura is survived by her three children, Jennifer Thomas and her husband, Kevin of Marlboro, Maria Gier of Morganville and Jeffrey Gier and his wife, Elizabeth Stanley of Manalapan; three grandchildren, Brandon, Olivia and James; siblings, Angelina Helm and her husband, John and Jerry Salerno and his wife, Rosalie, many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
