Obituary of Charing Mack

Charing Mack, 77, of Manalapan, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township. She was born in the Philippines and immigrated to the United States with Alberto L. Mack in 1969, living in Newark briefly prior to settling in Piscataway. Charing lived in Piscataway for over 30 years before moving to the Covered Bridge community in Manalapan in 2014. She worked as a Medical Technologist at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, and then at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in Piscataway and Overlook Hospital in Summit. Charing was a parishioner at St. John the Evangelist in Dunellen and often visited the American Association of Buddhist Education in Rancocas. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching Chinese cooking shows on YouTube and a variety of horror films. She was a great cook of her own accord, her specialties being spring rolls, banana rolls and barbecue sticks. Charing loved to take trips to Atlantic City where she was a “High Roller” at Harrah’s Casino due to her success at slot machines. However, her favorite role was as “Amah” to her grandchildren.

Charing was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Cynthia Chan, brothers William Chan, Domie Chan and George Chan, former husband Alberto L. Mack, and her canine companions, Summer and Holly. She is survived by three sons, Patrick Mack and his wife, Jennifer of Readington, NJ, Preston Mack and his wife, Grace of Orlando, FL and Prinze Mack and his wife, Debbie of Howell, NJ, seven grandchildren, Andrew, Angelina, AJ, Henry, Harrison, Sam and Sydney, and sisters, Earlie Kwa and Evelyn Lo.
