Obituary of Walter Martin "Skip" Burdge, Jr.
Walter Martin “Skip” Burdge, Jr., 83, of Cass City, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. He was born in Bayonne, New Jersey, and raised in Farmingdale before settling in Michigan in 1987.
Skip dedicated 38 years of his career to 3M, working Minnesota and Michigan. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was a volunteer firefighter in Farmingdale, New Jersey. A man who loved the outdoors, he resided on a 40-acre farm, where he enjoyed hunting and spending time in nature.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Martin Burdge, Sr., and Louise Elizabeth Burdge, as well as his son, James Allen Burdge. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Kimbra Burdge; his children, Tamara O’Neil and her husband, Kevin, and Tyler Burdge and his wife, Stacy; his grandchildren, October, Ripley, Lauren, Wyatt, Atlas, Jessica, and Lacey; and his sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Cartagena and her husband, Luis.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the Funeral Home.
