Obituary of Salvatore J. Benigno

Salvatore J. Benigno, 95, of Manchester passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Sunrise of Jackson. He was born in New York City, raised in Brooklyn, and lived and spent winters in Boynton Beach, Florida for 20 years. Salvatore was a 4th Degree Knight of Canarsie, sung in a choir and was the NJ Senior Idol in 2013. He enjoyed playing bocce, tennis, and golf. Salvatore was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. 

He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine; and 2 brothers. Salvatore is survived by his children, Nancy Barb and her husband, Perry of Jackson, Salvatore A. Benigno and his wife, Gail of Manchester, Peter Benigno and his wife, Michele of Marlboro, and Joanna Benigno of Manhattan; 9 Grandchildren; and 9 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home on Friday, March 7, 2025 to gather for the procession to his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
