Obituary of Richard Allen Hemenway

Richard Allen Hemenway, 76, of Howell passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  Born and raised amidst Vermont's Green Mountains, in Rutland and Ludlow, Richard remained a New Englander at heart, even after brief stints in Burlington, Lebanon, and South Carolina.  He settled in Howell in 2014, moving to be closer to his daughter.  A skilled machinist, he spent his career at General Electric and briefly at Boston Gear.  A devoted homebody, Richard found community online, particularly on Vermont-centric social media.  He enjoyed traveling the open road on spontaneous trips and discovering new places.  Richard’s passions included sports and politics, but his greatest joy was being a loving father and adoring grandfather.

Richard was predeceased by a brother and six sisters.  He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Stillman; grandchildren, Ieesha DiLorenzo and her husband, Rob and Tanner Stillman; and sisters, Dorothy Wells and Claire Savage.
