Obituary of Gloria Battaglia
Gloria Battaglia, 93, of Freehold Township passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Preferred Care, Old Bridge. She was born and raised in Little Italy, New York and had lived in Brooklyn and Staten Island before settling in Freehold. Gloria was a receptionist for Standard & Poors from 1982 until her retirement, where she made countless friends. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished. She took great pride in her appearance, always impeccably styled and put together, a true epitome of grace and elegance. In her free time, Gloria enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society, where she formed lasting friendships and participated in various activities with fellow members. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her infectious laughter, and her unwavering loyalty to those she held dear.
Gloria is survived by her two sons, Joseph Battaglia and his wife, Janet of Pocono Pines, PA and Anthony Battaglia and his wife, Joanne of Freehold; two grandchildren, Nicole Battaglia and Jaime Caponetta and her husband, John; and three great grandchildren, JJ, Joseph and Jack.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:30 PM with her funeral service to follow.
