Obituary of Dorothy "Dottie" Ondecker

Dorothy “Dottie” Ondecker, 94, of Howell passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. She was born and raised in Irvington, lived in Union, Elizabeth, Freehold, and Jackson before settling in Howell 8 years ago. Dottie worked for many years as a Clerk for ShopRite in Freehold. She enjoyed baking, especially apple pie, and cooking. Dottie was outgoing, feisty, and made friends anywhere she went. She loved cats and was Nanny to everybody.
 

She was predeceased by her sister, Marion Clark. Dottie is survived by her children, Ginger Sullivan and Bunny Ondecker; grandchildren, Lali Arcari and her husband, Mikey and Niki Sullivan; and 3 nephews.
 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with her funeral service to begin at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Adelphia Road and West Farms Road, Howell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724.
