Obituary of Gregory Janoczkin
Gregory Janoczkin, 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Mercy House in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Greg was born in New Brunswick, NJ and raised in South River, NJ. Later, he lived in several towns in New Jersey and Pennsylvania before settling in Waynesboro, PA with the love of his life, Rachel Feldberg.
Greg was the proud owner of Bohemians, an antiques and fine furnishing store. Over the years, he also worked as a software engineer, working with various e-commerce companies. He also was instrumental in pioneering the first online shopping carts with a team of developers in the late 1990s and early 2000s. His creativity, strong work ethic and gregarious nature fostered a rich and diverse work life.
A man of deep faith, Greg was a devoted member of St. Vladimir’s Memorial Church, Jackson, NJ. He served as an altar boy for several years in his youth at SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in South River, NJ. His spirituality was strongly tied to his heritage and had a love of Russian traditions, food, dance and his cherished moments at Rova Farms.
Highly intelligent and endlessly curious, Greg earned his bachelor's degree at Kean University in Union, NJ in business. He also studied psychology and pre-medical studies. His analytical mind and competitive spirit fueled a passion for card games, particularly poker and blackjack, which he played in local and national tournaments and even in Las Vegas.
Greg’s love for adventure inspired him to travel extensively. He especially enjoyed spending time in the tropics, with a special fondness for Mexico, and even lived in Dominica in the Caribbean for a time.
He was known for his quick wit, wonderful sense of humor and for his generous heart. Greg was truly caring to a fault, and his warmth and humor left an impression on all who met him. He donated to several local churches in the Waynesboro area, food banks and the humane society.
Greg was predeceased by his father, Michael Janoczkin. He is survived by his loving partner of the past thirteen years, Rachel Feldberg; his mother, Ann Janoczkin of South River, NJ; sister, Lisa Wojnarowicz and husband, Peter of Spotswood, NJ; brother, Alexander Janoczkin of Jackson, NJ; sister, Michele Adams and her husband, John of Bailey, CO; children, Kyle and Brianna; nieces, Larisa and Alexis; and a nephew, Nicholas.
