Obituary of Joseph Flora, Jr.

Joseph Flora, Jr. of Freehold Township passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 15, 2025.  Mr. Flora was born in Jersey City.  He was raised and lived in Freehold Township before moving to Jackson in 1982.  Joe returned to Freehold Township in 2023 to live with his daughter.  He retired as the construction manager for Peter J. Saker in 1999 after seventeen years of dedicated service.  A man of faith, Joe was a former parishioner of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold Township.  He was a car enthusiast and relished his time at car shows.  Joe’s favorites were the MG Midget, Austin-Healey and Triumph.  Always tinkering, he was a true craftsman and could fix anything.   

Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Della in 2020; a daughter, Toni Glenn; three sisters; and three brothers.  He is survived by his children, Frankie Flora of Forked River, Chris Flora of Jackson; Kelly Flora and her fiancé, Richard Morone of Freehold Township, and Joann Seip and her husband, Jim; eleven grandchildren, Patrick Trushell and his wife, Jenna, Krystal Berking and her husband, William, Joei Smart and her husband, John, Peter Gala, Scott Angus, Tyler Angus, Ashley McFarland and her husband, Patrick, Rachel DiGiovanni and her husband, Nick, Shane Connelly, Brenden Connelly, Hailey Connelly, Jimmy Seip, and Shawn Seip; seven grandchildren, Parick, III, Allie, Adrianna, Alliyah, Autumn, Hendricks, Kyleigh, and Audriana; and many nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:30 PM with his funeral service to follow at 6:30 PM.  Interment will be private.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
