Obituary of Sharon M. Knipper
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce that our adored Sharon Knipper passed away on May 26, 2025 at home surrounded by family. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother and treasured grandmother of eight grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
Her hands were rarely still — always busy crafting, knitting, or crocheting with love and care for her family, especially her grandchildren. Each hat, blanket, stuffed animal and handmade gift she created carried a piece of her joyful spirit. Her craft room was her happy place, and it overflowed with color, warmth, and laughter — much like her life.
Sharon had a heart as big as her yarn stash, and she lived for the giggles and chaos of her grandkids. Whether she was planning parties or vacations, sharing her love for reading or sneaking in sweet treats, she made every moment feel magical. Her playful nature, contagious laugh, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Knipper of 23 years, her mother and father, Keith and Janet Kenning, her daughters, Jaimie Maines, Melissa Roth, Heather Fay and their husbands Timothy Maines, George Roth and William Fay, and her cherished eight grandchildren, Carter Maines, Shane Roth, Connor Maines, Quinn Maines, Emma Roth, William Fay, Noah Fay and Everly Fay, who will forever carry her legacy of creativity, compassion, and joy. She is also survived by her brother Mark Kenning (Debbie), her sister Jane Kenning (Bob), her nephews Wesley and Bradley and her many friends from her 26 years working at Ernst & Young, who filled her life with love and laughter.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Friday, May 30, 2025 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. For those who are not able to attend her Funeral Mass in person, you are welcome to participate via the funeral home’s webcast, HERE. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity in her name or simply honor her memory by creating something beautiful and sharing it with someone you love.
