Obituary of Anna Portobello

Anna Portobello, 78, of Jackson Township passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, Lakewood.  Anna was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She later lived in the Willowbrook section of Staten Island before settling in Jackson Township in 2006.  An active and vibrant member of her community, Anna belonged to the Red Hat Society and enjoyed playing bocce at Four Seasons, South Knolls.  She loved traveling, whether it was to Atlantic City, Las Vegas, or all the way to San Diego to visit her sister-in-law.  A devoted New York Mets fan, Anna also had a well known sweet tooth, especially for Chips Ahoy cookies.

Anna is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Vincent Portobello; a daughter, Danielle Albano and her husband, Drew; grandchildren, Andrew and Alexandra; and her brother, Vincent Varriale.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & Mc Girr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Funeral Service at the funeral home on Saturday, May 31, 2025.  Entombment will follow in Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
