Obituary of Antonina Komalova

Antonina Komalova, 49, of Howell Township passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Ocean Medical Center at Brick.

Tonya was born and raised in in Riga, Latvia.  Along with her husband, they immigrated to the United States in 1999 settling down in Brooklyn, NY.  She moved to Howell Township, NJ in 2018.

Tonya’s gentle spirit and unwavering compassion touched countless lives. For eight years, she served as a Registered Nurse in multiple settings including Outpatient Pediatrics the Pediatric Emergency Department at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, offering comfort and care to so many.  Yet, her heart always belonged to her family and friends, who were her greatest treasure and the center of her world.

She had a way of bringing light and laughter wherever she went.  Whether she was soaking in the sun by the pool or joking about how much she hated to cook, she was always quick to lend a hand, always the first to do the dishes even in someone else’s home.  Her warmth and spirit left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know her.

Tonya’s light was a gift to all who knew her - gentle, steady, and full of love.  Even in her final days, she gently held on to the selfless love that defined her - finding the strength to reassure and comfort those around her, just as she always did.

Though she has left this world, the beauty of her spirit lives on in every heart she touched — as a nurse, who comforted others, and as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend whose love knew no bounds. Her memory will forever be a source of warmth and comfort to all who carry her in their hearts.

Tonya was predeceased by her mother, Nataliya. She is survived by her husband, Andrew; a son, Denny; father, Sergei Kozlov; brother, Maxim Kozlov and his wife, Olga; mother-in-law, Lioubov Degidio; best friend and sister, Victoria Talyansky and her husband, Oleg; her niece, Alexa Talyansky; her nephew, Elan Talyansky; many other family and friends; and her faithful canine companions, Crystal and Luna.
