I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to have had you in my life. You were a steady and caring presence in our lives, always giving your time and heart. You were always genuinely interested in what was going on at work, at home, and with the kids. From coaching Jacqueline’s soccer team, alongside Karen to coaching Evan and his high school wrestling team, you showed up with love, passion, and dedication.
I will miss our talks, your thoughtful newspaper clippings that would arrive in the mail, your daily Wordle, Connections, and Spelling Bee results and the accompanying agenda of the day. I will miss the way a simple pat on the back or a hand on my shoulder said so much.
You weren’t my father by blood, but you were everything a Dad is—loving, proud, supportive, and present.
I love you dearly, and I will miss you terribly. Thank you for everything, Dad!
