Obituary of Annie Veronica Horan

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Annie Veronica Horan (née Breheny), who died peacefully on June 15, 2025 at the age of 86.

Born on April 30, 1939, in Clooncouse, Charlestown, County Mayo, Ireland, Vera was one of thirteen siblings. She immigrated to the United States in 1955, making her first home in Brooklyn before settling in Howell, New Jersey.

A devoted mother and proud grandmother, Vera will be lovingly remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication to her family.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Patrick Aidan Horan; her parents, John and Annie Kate (Tarpey) Breheny; and her siblings: James, William, Sean, Maureen, Padraig, Patricia, Thomas, Bridget, Madeleine, Dolores, and Collette.

Vera’s legacy lives on through her children and their spouses: Kathy and Kevin Healy of Sandy Springs, GA; Aidan Horan of Howell, NJ; Sean and Kathy Horan of Stony Point, NY; and Jennifer and Brian Pieloch of Columbus, NJ. She was a cherished grandmother to Meghan, Brendan, Shannon, and Nolan Healy; Aidan and Connor Horan; Maggie and Liam Horan; and Jack, Riley, and Claire Pieloch. She was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Maeve. Vera is survived by her dear sister, Kitty Walsh, in Ireland.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, June 20th, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with her funeral service to follow.
