Obituary of Frank Coleman
Frank Coleman, affectionately known as “Frankie,” gained his wings on June 11, 2025. Born to Ethel Yvonne Patillo Coleman and Frank Coleman, he was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harold Tarwick. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his aunts, Alice Coleman and Joan Culver; his sisters Betty Harper, Robyn Williamson (Lou), and Sharleen; his stepsister Carolyn Mclendon; his beloved children Lamar (Monique), Tymara, and Javonni(Vanessa); and his precious grandchildren: Jeremiah, Aiden, Jayden, Lamar, Ariana (his only granddaughter), soon-to-arrive grandson, Kayden; godsons, Jalan Baptiste and Antonio F. Osborne and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A longtime resident of Plainfield, New Jersey, Frank was known for his strong work ethic at the Plainfield Country Club and his many talents—as a gifted mechanic, skilled fisherman, and great cook. Throughout his life, he touched the hearts of many, always willing to lend a helping hand. He also shared a special bond with Tyler, whom he proudly embraced as his stepson.
Frankie was the kind of person you could always count on—whether you were moving out of a two-story walk-up or just needed a listening ear. His kindness, humor, and unwavering support made him beloved by all who knew him.
To know Frankie was to love him. His absence leaves a deep void in our hearts, but his memory and spirit will live on in each of us.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
