Obituary of Martino Hroncich

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Martino “Marty” Hroncich, beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, godfather and friend, who passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2025, while vacationing in his beloved motherland of Croatia.

Born on September 12, 1968, to John and Libe Hroncich, Marty was a dedicated son, always present to help and support his parents. The youngest of three siblings, he shared an unbreakable bond with his family throughout his life. He was the loving husband of Michele, the love of his life, who brought him immeasurable happiness. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around their precious daughter, Nadia Grace, who was his absolute pride and joy. Becoming a father for the first time was Marty’s greatest blessing, he dedicated every waking moment to his wife and little girl. His love for both was boundless.

Marty was a proud and devoted brother to Gracie and her husband Dominick Piccini, and to John and his wife Rosie. He was a loving son-in-law to William and Sonja Delgado, and a caring brother-in-law to Jonathan and Jamelia Delgado, and Alicia and Francis Garvey. He was also a proud uncle to Jeannette and Dave Galonska, Tanya and Ron Oswick, Christopher and Cynthia Piccini, Derek and Stephanie Piccini, and Lilith Garvey, and a devoted great-uncle to Kendall, Madison, Delaney, Zoey, Catalina, Whitney, Jackson, and Emilia. Marty was the cherished grandson-in-law of Anna Heilmann and was beloved by countless cousins and friends.

Marty was predeceased by his loving grandparents, Maria and John Tarabocchia and Antonia and Martino Hroncich.

Marty proudly dedicated his career to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, where he served with commitment and integrity until his recent retirement as Chief Maintenance Supervisor at LaGuardia Airport. His hard work, leadership, and lasting friendships left a meaningful mark on the organization and the people he worked with.

Marty’s passion for music was the soundtrack of his life. A gifted musician, he was once the leader of the band Golden Star and continued through the years to share his love of music through his heartfelt performances. His voice, his guitar, and his joy brought life to every room. He was lovingly known as the “Piano Man” to his family and friends. His songs will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Marty had a deep pride in his roots and being part of Corporation H, the proud name his father, uncles and cousins gave themselves was one of his greatest honors.

He found peace and happiness in life’s simple pleasures, spending time with his family, traveling, fishing and most of all enjoying a round of golf with those he loved. Marty was a lifelong and loyal New York Yankees fan.

Marty lived a life full of music, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family. His love was big, his smile was contagious, and his presence was unforgettable. Though his sudden passing has left a space no words can fill, his memory, his music, and his deep love will continue to live on in all of us, especially in his beloved Michele and Nadia Grace, the two greatest joys in his life. 

Marty will be deeply missed, endlessly remembered, and forever cherished.
