Condolences
I am so sorry for your loss. I truly adored Anna and feel so grateful to have known her. She was such a fun, kind, and generous person. If she cared about you, she welcomed you like family—and I will always remember her that way. Rest in paradise Anna ♥️
My dear Anneliese. When I met Maik, it was very important to him that we get to know each other quickly. And we did. Everything worked out; I can look back on so many precious memories. What fun we had together. We cooked, celebrated, had our nails done, watched the deer in the garden in the morning, and admired the hummingbirds. With coffee and a cigarette, of course. Then we'd hit the sofa and live the day to the fullest. We went shopping, cooked together, played games, and met friends. Often, everyone came to your house and enjoyed being together. Oh yes, and not forgetting the scratch cards :-). The first time we visited you with our children Jona and Ava, the visit was a little quieter, but no less precious. Two of our children were able to meet you and the whole family. I will never forget the moment we arrived with the babies. Just like on previous visits, you were standing at the door and welcomed us. You were happy, we were happy, and we all had a wonderful time together. It would have been so nice to introduce you to our third child. Jari never met you, but he knows exactly what you were like and why you are so important to us. We often look at photos and videos. Aunt Annelise, you were always very present in our lives and always will be. We love you!
We will always treasure the memories of Aunt Anneliese and look back on her with great love. There are countless moments that we look back on.
When she used to visit us, I (Maik) always vacated my room. The room smelled of her for days after she left. It was a pleasant scent, a mixture of her perfume and the menthol cigarettes she used to smoke back then. Anne often called on Sundays, and the phone circulated freely so everyone could talk to her, just as it did for birthdays or Christmas. She often sent us packages with things that were only available in the USA. For example, a football costume for Carnival or KITT toy cars. Later, we traveled to the USA together and visited Anne in Farmingdale. We still remember exactly how she looked out the door when we arrived. We sat together, smoked, ordered takeout from Toni's, drank Ruffino, and played Left-Right-Center. In the mornings, we sat on the couch in the TV room, drank coffee, and watched Good Morning America. We sometimes drove three times a day shopping, to the mall in Freehold, ate at Ruby Tuesday, visited relatives, and always had a good time. Back then, she still had her red VW Passat. When you opened the door, the smell of the pineapple air fresheners immediately hit you. We listened to "Hello Again" by Howard Carpendale and enjoyed our time together. That was our time. We'll never forget her special way of smoking cigarettes—more like chewing :-) -her pepper steak pan or snow crab legs. Our trips to AC were legendary for us. We sat together at the slot machines and drank Appletinis. We had a special connection and will always carry her in our hearts. We loved and love her more than anything and it is a small consolation that she can finally see Otto, Magret and Elmar again – wherever they all are.
Anne, we love you!!!!
Anne's death touches us deeply and makes us sad. She was an important link between our German and American families. We spoke on the phone almost every week and were therefore able to share her life in America with her large family and she shared our life in Germany, which she left almost 60 years ago. Several visits - she back in Germany, we in America - have strengthened the bonds. Every reunion was special, every farewell sad. This parting is now so final and painful. We will miss her very much. With love Rosi and Wolfgang
Ana and my mom Doris Walton worked together for many years. They were the closest of friends. I loved Ana. She was always so beautiful and glamorous. And very generous. My Mom loved her very much. They always laughed together and made the best of any situation.
Our whole family loved Ana and we all miss her.
I pray for her whole family to find comfort at this difficult painful time. The loss of your mother hurts forever. I pray for her children to be able to keep her incredible spirit with them always With love, Patty Tallent
Owie was one of the coolest ladies I had known. She was strong, hilarious & never let anyone change her mind. I love her & her family dearly and I’m sending so much love and hugs during this time. Rest in eternal paradise, Owie ❤️
