Obituary of Galina Balsirow
Galina Balsirow, 90, of Howell Township passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at home. Galina was born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria. She then lived in Germany until immigrating the United States in 1951 settling in Philadelphia. Galina moved to Howell Township in 1958 to raise her family. She had worked at Brockway Glass and for the I.L.G.W.U. as a seamstress. Galina then retired as a custodian for the Howell Township Board of Education in 2009 and had worked at Howell Memorial and Middle School South Schools. She was a Buddhist and was a devoted member of the Tashi Lhunpo Buddhist Temple and the Kalmuck Mongolian Buddhist Center.
Galina was predeceased by her husband, Andrej Balsirow; grandson, Michael Reuter; and siblings, Maria Sandsha Andreev, Vera Djambinov, and Naran Ivanchukov. She is survived by her five children, Emily Elumdja Balsirow, Bemba Balsirow, Sergej Balsirow, George Balsirow, and Naran Balsirow; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and her brother, Alexey Ivanchukov.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Buddhist Service at the funeral home on Friday, July 25, 2025. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir’s R.O. Cemetery, 316 Cassville Road, Jackson. A Bouyin Service will be held at 12:00 Noon at the Tashi Lhunpo Buddhist Temple, 12 Kalmuck Road, Howell on Saturday, August 2, 2025 and all are welcome.
