Obituary of MarySusan "Susan" Briscuso
MarySusan Briscuso, 80, of Jackson, passed away peacefully at CareOne at Wall on Friday, July 25, 2025. Susan, as she liked to be called, was born, raised, and started her family in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn, NY. She moved to Commack, Long Island in 1990, and then to Bayville, NJ in 2002. She settled in the Westlake community in Jackson in 2016.
Susan retired as a teacher’s aide for the Commack Union Free School District. Prior to that, she was very involved in the school at St. Jude Shrine R.C. Church in Canarsie as a substitute teacher and in the PTA. She was a true woman of faith and prayed every day. Susan was a Den and Brownie Mom while raising her children in Canarsie. Collecting collectables was a major hobby of hers, from teapots to Hummels to anything Disney. Susan found joy in the find. She also had a passion for decorating for every holiday and relished her time cooking, hosting, and entertaining family and friends on holidays. She was a devoted wife for the past fifty-six years, a loving mother, and an adoring “Grandma”.
Susan was preceded by her son, Vincent in 2007; her parents, Thomas and Domenica “Mae” Geraci; and her sister, JoAnn Beauford earlier this year. She is survived by her husband, Gaetano “Tom” Briscuso; children, Nicholas Briscuso and Gina Cusanelli and her husband, John; and grandson, Thomas
