Obituary of Richard J. "Hank" Murphy, Jr.

Richard J. “Hank” Murphy, Jr, 64, of Freehold Township, passed away on July 31, 2025, at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold. He was born and raised in New Jersey. Hank was known for his hard work in construction, his skills as a handyman, and his talent as a chef. Hank served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy, a highlight of his life that he cherished deeply. He was a devoted son, always taking care of and spending time with his mother. Hank's friends will always remember him for his love of music, especially rock and roll. He had a knack for making people laugh and would often say, "I'll see you in the funny papers, Peace out."

Hank is predeceased by his father, Richard J. Murphy, Sr. He is survived by his daughter, Mariea Kovsky and her husband, Robert of Cream Ridge, three grandchildren, Ava, Eric and Isabelle; mother, Janice Tkacs; brother, Dennis Murphy and his wife, Lisa of New Egypt and Marie Ryder “Aunt Bunny” of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
