Obituary of Vera Fedoroff Mackanic
Vera Fedoroff Mackanic, 55, of Howell Township passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Vera was born in Lakewood and was a lifelong Howell resident.
She graduated from Freehold Township High School, received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Chicago, where she graduated Cum Laude, and received her Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington, University Law School in 1996, where she had been chosen as a Dean’s Fellow. Vera was admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey and in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1996 and was admitted to practice in the State of New York in 1997.
Currently Vera was the sole practitioner of her own firm Fedoroff Firm LLC in Howell. Prior to forming her own firm, she was a partner with Atkinson & DeBartolo, P.C., in Red Bank for 18 years. Vera practiced bankruptcy, real estate, and probate law. From 1996 to 1997, she had the honor of serving as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Clarkson S. Fisher, Jr., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, General Equity, and Family Part.
Vera is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute; American Bar Association, General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Division; the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Bankruptcy Law Section and Women in the Profession Section; the New York State Bar Association; and the Monmouth County Bar Association.
A woman of deep faith, Vera was a member of St. Alexander Nevsky R.O. Church and was always a consummate volunteer at the church. She relished her trips to Norr Camp in the Catskills and spending time on the beach in Belmar. Vera also enjoyed her time in the Outer Banks and North Myrtle Beach. Reading and watching movies were things she liked but most of all she treasured her time with her sons and husband.
Vera was predeceased by her father, George Fedoroff. She is survived by her husband, William; four sons, Michael, Alexander, Vladimir, and Konstantin; her mother, Marina; and two sisters, Olga and Marianna.
A pannyhida will be held at St. Alexander Nevsky R.O. Cathedral, 200 Alexander Avenue, Howell on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM funeral service at the Cathedral on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir R.O. Cemetery, 317 Cassville Road, Jackson. Arrangements by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
