Obituary of Katie M. Paulsen

Katie M. Paulsen, 35, of Old Bridge, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Raritan Bay, Perth Amboy. She was born in New Brunswick and was raised in Englishtown before settling in Old Bridge in 2014. Katie was a 2007 graduate of Freehold Township High School. Her hobbies included showering her beloved cats with affection, her love for the colors pink and purple and she found solace in the presence of butterflies. Katie found joy in simple things from listening to podcasts and enjoying comedy, to her love for music. Her infectious laughter and kind spirit brightened the lives of those around her. Katie had a unique ability to light up any room with her beautiful personality, leaving a lasting impact on all those she encountered.

Katie is predeceased by her father, Kurt Paulsen and grandmother, Kathleen Puglisi. She is survived by her mother, Michele Paulsen and her husband, William Blaszka of Freehold, grandfather, Joseph Puglisi of Freehold; fiancé, Matthew Macagnone of Old Bridge; auntie and uncle, Gabriele Incigeri and her husband, Tony; cats, Jobi and Jeffrey.

A gathering of friends will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:30 PM with her butterfly release to follow. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Katie may be made to Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ.
