Obituary of George Berghoff

George Berghoff, 72, of Howell passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  He was born in Neptune, raised in Wall and had lived in Brielle, Pennsylvania and Lakewood before settling here in 1990.  George worked for Jost Garage in Wall as an auto body painter prior to retiring.  George’s hobbies included golfing, fishing, and playing horseshoes.  He was a grill master who enjoyed hosting for family and friends.  George was the best example of a husband that a wife could wish for - devoted and faithful, and a hardworking man driven by providing and caring for his family. 

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Elmira Berghoff; son, Ian Bagnell; and sister, Linda Berghoff.  George is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lynne Berghoff; daughter, Amy Winkowski; sons, Brian Berghoff and Zachary Bagnell; grandchildren, Dylan, Emily, Brandon, Abby, Alex, Nick, Chase and Hayley; many loving nieces and nephews; dogs, Gabe and Cubby; and cats, Leo, Sandy and Callie.
