Obituary of Mary Ann Prinke
Mary Ann Prinke, 89, of Howell, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025 surrounded by all of her loving family. She was born and raised in Jersey City before settling in Howell in 1960. Mary Ann worked for the Howell Township Board of Education for over 30 years and retired in the early 1990s as a cook manager at the Ardena School.
She was a former parishioner of the Church of St. Veronica and a Eucharistic Adorer at the adoration chapel. Most recently, she attended St. Anthony’s of Padua Roman Catholic Church. Mary Ann was an avid reader and would read anything from a novel to a magazine. Spending time with her family was most important to her, and being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother was what she held closest to her heart.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Anna Meyers, her husband, Edward Prinke, and her sister, Margaret Studer. She is survived by her sons, Edward Prinke and his wife, Kim, of Fort Pierce, FL, and Joseph Prinke and his wife, Diane, of River Vale, NJ; her daughter, Mary Ann Block and her husband, Joseph, of Roosevelt, NJ; six grandchildren, Alissa Gates, Nicholas Gates and his wife, Marissa, Mia Nasello and her husband, Michael, Joseph Prinke, Adam Block and his fiancée, Ally Huelbig, and Gabrielle Block; three great-grandchildren, Quincy, Ryan, and Gregory; her brother, George Meyers; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 9:00 AM for the procession to her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 156 Maxwell Avenue, Hightstown. Interment will follow at Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown.
