Obituary of Sean Charles Lore
Sean Charles Lore—though to everyone he was simply “Sean Lore” (always first and last)— was born February 22, 1975, in Freehold, NJ. He passed on August 28, 2025, at home in Utah, surrounded (literally) by his family and friends.
True to the theme of twos in his life—born on 2/22, fighting two cancers, and now honored with two celebrations of life—Sean did nothing halfway. He hiked with all his might, loved with his whole heart, and filled every room with kindness, laughter, and a charisma that made him a friend to all he met.
He was the son of James and Norene Lore; the brother of Matthew (Chelsea) and Ben (Nicole). He was the best uncle to Lucas, Isla, Jake and Oliver, and brother-in-law to Krista, whose love for Sean’s late brother James keeps her forever part of the Lore family.
And at the center of his world was his wife, Marissa. Their love was the real deal—deep, playful, loyal, and magnetic, a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love. He taught her what it means to love completely, and together they created a life of adventure, dominoes game nights with yacht rock blasting, snack-filled budget meetings (yes, really), and countless memories across trails, travels, and Tiger games.
By day, Sean was a Lead Financial Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, where he brought as much brilliance to spreadsheets as he did humor to his colleagues. By night, he was a Clemson Tigers superfan, a travel junkie, a Springsteen-on-repeat devotee, and the most generous soul you could ever meet. Sean was a proud patriot through and through and served in the United States Army Reserves from 1994-2004 with an Honorable Discharge.
As every single person who knew him will tell you: Sean Lore was the best person they knew. And that, more than anything, is his legacy.
