Obituary of Marie A. Ready

Marie A. Ready, 75, of Forest City, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, Pennsylvania.  She was born, raised and had lived in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn before moving to Forest City in 2023.  Marie was a warm, kind-hearted woman whose presence brought comfort and joy to everyone who knew her.  She had a deep love for music, especially classics by The Beatles, Elvis Presley, and Ricky Nelson.  A proud and devoted grandmother, Marie found her greatest happiness in her family.  She embraced her role as "Grandma" with unmatched pride and affection, never missing an opportunity to spoil her grandchildren with endless love. Marie enjoyed the simple pleasures in life — cozy afternoons watching her favorite TV shows, drinking tea, and creating lasting memories with those around her.  Her gentle spirit, warm laugh, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was predeceased by her grandson, John Patrick Flanders; brother, Charley; sister, Catherine and her twin sister, Vicki.  Marie is survived by her daughters, Christine Hall and her husband, Peter of Vandling, Pennsylvania, Caroline Flanders of Freehold, and Kathleen Gambone and her husband, Victorio of Staten Island; grandchildren, Kelly, Patrick, Jacqueline, Kristen, and Leonardo; great granddaughter, Willow; and brother, Walter Greene.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale. Interment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, 549 Route 520, Marlboro.
