Obituary of Dennis J. Sullivan
Dennis J. Sullivan, 78, of Howell Township passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 7, 2025 in Serenity Hospice in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton. Dennis was born in Manhattan and was raised in New Hyde Park, NY. He lived in Hicksville, Long Island before moving to Howell Township in 1991. Dennis was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. He retired as a foreman in the Press Room for the New York Times after forty-two dedicated years of service in 2008 and was also a member of the Teamsters. Dennis was a fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Football Giants. Yet his true love was for the game of golf, either playing or just watching on tv. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and sarcastic wit which was delivered with lots of love.
Dennis was predeceased by his wife, Joyce; his son, Sean; two sisters; and a brother. He is survived by his son, Dennis Sullivan and his wife, Liz; his daughter, Denise Nocerino; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six sisters; a brother; twenty-seven nieces and nephews; and numerous grand nieces and nephews and dear friends.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friend are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 9:00 AM for the procession to his 10:00 AM funeral mass at the Church of St. Veronica, 4201 Route 9 North, Howell, NJ. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle NJ Veterean’s Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provence Line Road, Arneytown.
