Obituary of Virgenmina Hernandez
Virgenmina Hernandez, 91, of Freehold passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson. She was born and raised in Coamo, Puerto Rico, and immigrated to the Bronx at the age of 20. Virgenmina lived in Jackson before settling in The Villages in Freehold in 1996. She enjoyed music and dancing, tending to her plants, and had an affection for hummingbirds. Her greatest joy in life was cooking for and taking care of her family. She loved nothing more than hosting family gatherings and being with the people she treasured. Virgenmina was a former parishioner and eucharistic minister at St. Monica.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Hernandez, Sr.; father, Santiago Rolon; and mother, Consuelo Berley. Virgenmina is survived by her children, Diana Kelley and her husband, Dan, Henry Hernandez, Jr. and Betsy McAllister and her husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Daniel Kelley, Jr., Christopher Michael Kelley, Henry Joseph Hernandez, Branden Tyler Hernandez, John Phillip McAllister and his wife, Nicole, Connor A. McAllister and Ryan J. McAllister; and her sisters, Louise Berley and Lydia Berley.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 1:30 PM Graveside Service in Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown.
