Obituary of James B. Gunther, Jr.

James B. Gunther, Jr., 80, of Farmingdale passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Preferred Care in Wall. Mr. Gunther was born in Neptune and was raised in Asbury Park.  He settled in Farmingdale in 1963.  He was a member of the I.B.E.W., Local 400 and worked for J.C.P. & L. as a lineman and Supervisor for over 40 years, retiring in 2010. 

Mr. Gunther was predeceased by his parents, James B. and Elizabeth Gunther, Sr. and his sister, Mary June Megill.  He is survived by his wife, Marie (nee Arning) Gunther; sons, Christopher Robert Gunther and James B. Gunther, III; and grandson, Joseph Gunther.
