Olga Piasecki

Obituary of Olga Piasecki

Olga Piasecki, 97, of Ocean passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 1, 2025.  Olga was born, raised, and lived in Hillside where she raised her four children and worked in Bristol-Myers.  Olga and Henry retired and moved to Wall Township in the early 2000s before she finally moved to Senior Living in Ocean Township two years ago.

During her lifetime she loved traveling, whether it be short trips to Atlantic City or cruising Europe and the Caribbean with her husband, Henry.  Her greatest joy in life, however, was taking care of her family.  She loved having them at the shore house which was always filled with kids playing, the scent of home cooking, and of course a deck of cards on the table.

She also liked to go to the beach in Belmar.  In fact, one year her grandchildren surprised her with a bench on the boardwalk on 16th Avenue which was dedicated to her and Henry.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henry, in 2013; two brothers, Pete and Paul Tuschyn; and a sister, Ann Dienst.  Olga is survived by four children; Peggy Knipfelberg and her husband, Bo, of Jackson, George Piasecki and his wife, Susan, of Barnegat, Peter Piasecki and his wife, Donna, of Freehold, and Barbara Strom and her husband, Ed, of Middletown.  Olga also is survived and cherished by eleven grandchildren; Debbie Pagach and her husband, Kyle, Michele Nunziato and her husband, Joe, Jaclyn Kandil, Steven Knipfelberg and his wife, Vanessa, Laurie Truitt and her husband, Jim, Michael Piasecki and his wife, Amanda, Lisa Guerin and her husband, Chris, Jennifer Piasecki, Peter Piasecki and his wife, Shannon, Danny Piasecki and his wife, Nicole, and Eddie Strom. She also leaves behind twenty-one great-grandchildren; Jake, Tanner, Cody and Luke Pagach, Nick and Isabella Nunziato, Landon Kandil, Charlotte and Hazel Knipfelberg, James and Tyler Truitt, Cole and Olivia Guerin, Faith and Emma Piasecki, Preston, Lacey and Logan Piasecki, Liam, Ava and Callie Piasecki.  Olga is also survived by her loving caregiver and dear friend of 12 years, Nine Shuvalova, whose kindness and companionship brought great comfort to her in her final years.

Olga's father, Michael, was one of the founding fathers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Ascension which originated in Newark where she was a member of the woman's club and an active parishioner.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made in Olga's name to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Holy Ascension, 652 Irvington Avenue, Maplewood, NJ 07040 or HERE.
