Obituary of Susan Josephine Mondel

Susan Josephine Mondel, 72, of Freehold passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at her residence with her husband by her side.  She was born and raised in Brooklyn and had lived in Farmingdale and Texas before settling in Freehold.  Susan was an executive secretary at Goldman Sachs for over 5 years.  Her life was filled with many accomplishments, but her true joy came from her hobbies.  Susan was known for her talent in crocheting beautiful baby blankets for friends and family, and she spent many hours sitting, relaxing and playing games on the internet.

Susan was predeceased by her parents, Rudolph and Agnes Wendt; and brother, Raymond Wendt.  She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Steven Mondel; son, Johnathan A. Mondel of TX; and a brother, Richard Wendt. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM graveside service on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Monmouth Memorial Park, 4201 NJ-33, Tinton Falls.
