Obituary of Cecilia A. Jordan

Cecilia A. Jordan, 86, passed away on November 6, 2025 at her home in Farmingdale, NJ where she lived for over 60 years.  Celie was born and raised in Palisades Park and graduated from Leonia High School.  In her youth, Celie was a communicate of St. Michaels Church in Palisades Park.

In 1958, Celie married the love of her life Alfred (Bob) Jordan.  Celie met Bob while on a charted fishing excursion with her father.   After their wedding, the couple lived in northern NJ before moving to Farmingdale where Celie lived until her passing.  In 1959, Celie and Bob became proud parents to their beloved daughter, Susan Jordan.  Being a mom was one of Celie’s greatest joys. 

Celie spent her career working for Monmouth County Social Services before she retired.

Celie had a great love for the outdoors and animals.  She devoted her later years to caring for the many animals that frequented her property and was a loving caretaker for her cats, Calvin and Priestly.

Celie was loved by her friends at Shop and Bag where she was a loyal customer for many, many years.  Celie had a quick wit and a great sense of humor and will be deeply missed.

Celie was predeceased by her husband Alfred (Bob) Jordan, her daughter Susan Jordan, her mother and father Rose and Andrew Blatt and her brother-in-law David Mohn and is survived by her sister Marjorie Mohn, her nieces Melinda (Martin) Prickett, Amanda (Chris) Fenwick and her "grand-nieces" and "grand-nephews", Tanner (Danielle) Prickett, Madeline Fenwick, Katherine Fenwick and Chris Fenwick Jr.

A special thank you to the employees at Shop and Bag, the volunteers at Meals on Wheels, Celie’s friends and neighbors, Keith Lackey, and others in the community for their assistance and support over the many years.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (31 Asbury Rd, Farmingdale, NJ 07727). Friends and family are welcome to meet in the church gathering space at 10:30 AM prior to the funeral Mass. Following the funeral Mass, a burial will be held at 12:30 PM at the St. Catherine’s Cemetery (1100 W Chicago Blvd, Sea Girt, NJ 08750).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Meals on Wheels (Interfaith Neighbors, 810 Fourth Ave, Asbury Park, NJ 07712).
