Obituary of Marie Elizabeth Liebehenz

Marie Elizabeth Liebehenz, 88, of Freehold passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at home surrounded by family. She was born in Red Bank, raised in Fair Haven, and settled in Freehold 60 years ago. In High School, she participated in sports, especially field hockey and softball. Marie worked as a Paraprofessional working with Special Needs children for many years at Freehold Regional High School District and worked as a security guard at F.E.L.. She found great joy and relaxation in spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and taking day trips with her friends. Marie was an avid history buff and Irish music, especially Celtic Thunder.

She was predeceased by her husband, William; and parents, Phillip and Rekealth Egeland. Marie is survived by her children, Glenn Liebehenz and his wife, Lisa, Brett Liebehenz, and Robin Liebehenz; grandchildren, Emily Liebehenz and Christopher Liebehenz; brothers, Bruce Egeland and his wife, Patty and Doug Egeland; and many loving friends.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a funeral service to begin at 12:00 PM.
