Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Uncle, 82
Mr. William Vadi, 82, of Easton, PA formerly of Newark, Kearny and Edison, NJ, passed away on Tuesday November 11, 2025.
Willie was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico and emigrated to Newark, NJ where he resided for many years before moving to Kearny, Edison and finally Easton, PA five years ago. Willie retired with over 22 years of service for the City of Newark (Housing Authority), ultimately held the position of supervisor for pest control in the maintenance department. Willie accompanied his late wife as she served as God’s servant in several congregations for over ten years. Willie continued to focus in his spiritual growth and became a loyal and respected congregant with the Faith Community Assembly of God in Easton, PA.
Willie was a funny, witty, compassionate, kind-hearted and selfless being with a gentle soul that touched everyone he came across. He gave his love unconditionally, offered genuine support and comfort to those who needed it. He had an extraordinary way of making someone feel valued and cherished. His memory will forever live in our hearts and in the countless lives he touched with his generosity and care.
Willie is survived by his devoted children, Miguel A. Nunez and his wife Myla, Anthony L. Cruz, Jasmine M. Galvan-Corey and her husband John, daughter-in-law Michele Galvan; his loving siblings Carmen Vadi and Dalila Velez; his eleven cherished grandchildren and two precious great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Willie is predeceased by his mothers Julia Matias, Anangelica Vadi, his late wife Carmen, his sons William Vadi, Jr., Gerardo A. Galvan, his brothers Thomas Vadi, Jose Villanueva, and his sisters Carmen Thillet, Maria Suarez, Ana Delia Ramos, Margarita Nieves and Leonor Rivera.
Visitation will be at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home of Freehold Township, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 6:00 to 7:30 PM. The Service will be officiated by Pastor Ruben Felix beginning at 7:30 PM. A funeral service will be held on a later date commemorating and marking the 2nd year anniversary (May 2026) of his beloved late wife’s passing, Carmen M. Cruz-Vadi. The interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington. More details to follow in the near future.
