Louis D'Angelo
Return to Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home

Obituary of Louis D'Angelo

Louis D’Angelo, 82, of Freehold passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.  Louis was born in Brooklyn.  Yet, he was a true Long Islander, where he was raised and lived.  Louis lived on the North Shore, from Lynbrook to Great Neck to Roslin to East Meadow to Dix Hills to North Port.  As a guy from the North Shore, he relished his time in the water fishing and passing that skill to his children.

Louis retired as a driver for the New York Daily News and then settled in Freehold in 2015.  He could often be found on the golf course, enjoying the game and the company, but no matter where the day began, you always knew it would end with him in the kitchen.  Cooking was his true passion, the place where he came alive, sharing his love through every meal he prepared.

Louis is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Diane D’Angelo; three children, Thoms D’Angelo, Lia Burrows and her husband, Dean, and Dana Duprée and her husband, Craig; five grandchildren, Alex, Christopher, Hailey and her husband, Jake, Meaghan and her fiancé, Logan, and Emily and her boyfriend, Jonhathen; three great-grandchildren, Micah, Wesley, and Ryder.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 9:30 AM for the procession to his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass in the Chapel at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Interment will be private.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to Little Shelter Animal Rescue & Adoption Center, 33 Warner Road, Huntington, NY 11743 or HERE.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
