Obituary of Maria Ana Tan
Maria Ana Tan, 72, of Summit passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Overlook Hospital, Summit. She was born in La Castellana Philippines and was raised in Bacolod City before immigrating to the United States in 2006. A devout Catholic, Maria believed wholeheartedly in God and the blessed virgin Mary. She found solace and strength in her faith, and it was evident in the way she lived her life. Maria was a fashionista, always impeccably dressed with her signature red lipstick. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she was known for her delicious cooking. Maria was a resilient and strong woman, facing life's challenges with a smile on her face. She had a jolly demeanor and was a practical jokester, always bringing laughter and joy to those around her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roberto Tan; brothers, Rafael Mercurio, Rodolfo Mercuiro, Jr and Benjamin Mercurio. Maria is survived by her five children, Michael Tan and his wife, Regine of Bacolod City, Gabrielle Christine Tan and her fiancé, Ashley Priestley of London, John Winston Tan and his partner, Risha Arzaga of Bacolod City, Margaret Marie Tan of Bacolod City and Robertino Emmaunel Tan and his fiancé Lester Lee Da Annoy of London; granddaughter, Abigail; siblings, Susan Gan and her husband, Chong Ho Gan, Corazon Zapanta and her husband, Rex, Lourdes Mercuiro, Zane Gabriel Mercuiro and his wife, Antonette and Marie Fe Libetario and her husband, William.
The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the Guillame Family. She felt protected and surrounded by the love of Stephanie, John, Myles and Zara.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, December 5, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
