Alacoque "Mitzi" Hary Obituary

Alacoque “Mitzi” Hary, 80, of Marlboro passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025 at home with her daughter by her side. She was born and raised in New York City, and had lived in Astoria, Queens and Roslyn, New York before settling in Marlboro in 2007. Mitzi met her husband Joseph while living in New York and learned a great deal from him. She became the manager of repairs for all kinds of jewelry and watches with the knowledge Joe shared. Mitzi enjoyed cooking various meals but specialized in Hungarian dishes which were her husband’s favorite. She enjoyed sewing and traveling alongside Joe, their most treasured trips being to Europe. Mitzi was a devoted mother and proud grandma. She was lucky to move close to her grandkids and watch them grow up. Mitzi had a special place in her heart for her dog, Max and cat, Buddy, and always looked forward to the Sunday dinners surrounded by family with a good glass of wine.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Hary; brothers, John and Kenneth; and sister-in-law, Anna. Mitzy is survived by her daughter, Ava Cantor and her husband, Jeff; granddaughters, Sammie and Nickki; niece, Lilo; nephews, Jay and his wife, Donna and Zoli; great nieces, Katie and Kara; and brother-in-law, Antal.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:30 PM with her funeral service to begin at 6:30 PM.
