Obituary of Thomas Taylor Godfrey
Thomas Taylor Godfrey, 72, of Farmingdale passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at New York-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center, NY on Monday, December 22, 2025. Tom was born on Camp Kilmer in New Jersey. He was raised and lived in the Clark area. Tom moved to Farmingdale in 1987 to raise his family.
He retired as a proud member of the Carpenter’s Union, Local 715 in Edison. Tom then began his retirement job at Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club as a groundskeeper. Always keeping busy, he enjoyed his time putzing around the house and the yard. Yet, Tom relished his time at live events. From Monmouth Park to NASCAR tracks in Florida, Arizona and Delaware, he enjoyed being in the crowd. Tom also went to football games but only wanted to travel to the warm climates.
Tom was predeceased by his father, Tom T. Godfrey and his brother, William Godfrey. He is survived by his devoted wife of the past forty-three years, Theresa Godfrey; two children, Bryanne Godfrey and Ty Godfrey; grand pups, Tater, Cali, and Jackson; mother, Jane Godfrey; and sister, Linda Baus and her husband, John.
All arrangements are private at this time by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to Rescue Ridge, 1234 Rescue Ridge Lane, Howell Township, NJ 07731 or HERE.
