Obituary of John T. Kelly

John T. Kelly, 62, of Howell passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  He was born in Jersey City, raised in North Bergen and had lived in Palisades Park and Freehold Township before settling in Howell in 1993.  Since 2017, John was the CFO of the YMCA of the Jersey Shore and previously worked as the CFO of CGS Technology Associates, Inc. in Piscataway and Freedom Electronics in Eatontown.   He was a tireless volunteer and had coached Howell Pop Warner, North Howell Little League and Howell Basketball and made some true friends along the way.  John was a Thursday night regular for Bingo at Leggett’s in Manasquan and enjoyed many other nights there with friends and family.  With his love for music, recently as an empty nester, he started taking drum lessons.  His favorite thing to do was have his family over in the backyard just spending time together and creating memories. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and his memory will be cherished forever.

He was predeceased by his father, John Devir Kelly in 1993; and his mother-in-law, Judith Hanley in 2021.  John is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Judith Kelly; three children, Morgan Pascali and her husband, John, John D. Kelly and his wife, Brigitte and Stephanie Schwarzmann and her husband, Shaine; two grandchildren, Natalie and Josie; mother, Virginia Kelly; sister, Karen Travellin and her husband, Ralph; father-in-law, Robert Hanley; brother-in-law, Robert Hanley and his wife, Nancee; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.  

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township from 2:00 to 5:00 with his funeral service to follow at 5:00 PM.
