Obituary of Patricia E. Powers-Pusz
Patricia E. Powers-Pusz, 71, of Manalapan, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Patricia carried her love for her hometown with her throughout her life. In 1993 she settled in Manalapan, where she made a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. She worked for many years at JCPenney in Manhattan before proudly pursuing a career as a preschool teacher, a role that reflected her nurturing spirit and genuine love for children.
Patricia had a vibrant personality and a gift for conversation—she never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She loved to dance and cherished returning to her Brooklyn “neighborhood” whenever she could, reminiscing about old times and lifelong memories. Above all else, Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her kindness, warmth, and welcoming nature touched all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, John Powers, her brother, Robert Powers, and her sister-in-law, Valerie Powers. Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Robert Pusz; her children, Kathleen Pusz, Robert M. Pusz and his wife Alicen Pusz, and Lauren Mauti (nee Pusz) and her husband Joseph Mauti; her cherished grandson, Joseph Robert Mauti; her loving mother, Dorothy Powers; her siblings, Alfred Powers, John Powers and his wife Virginia Powers, and Charles Powers and his wife Teresa Powers; and her sister-in-law, Maureen Powers.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
