Eleanor Giannettino, 86, of Old Bridge passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Old Bridge Medical Center one day shy of her 87th birthday.  She was born, raised and had lived in Brooklyn, NY before settling here in 1998.  A parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Old Bridge, Eleanor was also an artist of various mediums including pencil drawings, painting and creating decorations through woodworking.  From her youth on, she enjoyed roller skating, bowling and the NY Yankees.  Eleanor was giving of her time and made an impact coaching softball.  In her spare time she could be found baking as an expression of her love and warmth.  She was a constant, cheering presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, never missing a chance to support and encourage them.  Whether it was a game, recital, graduation or event, you could always count on seeing her in the crowd.  Her greatest joy in life was being a Grandma and G.G.

Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, Martin and Anna Serpico; and her sisters, Josephine Lamberti and Jean Birtolo.  She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Andrew Giannettino; children, Michael Giannettino and his wife, Joanna of Old Bridge, Rosanne LaCava and her husband, Mike of Freehold Township, Andrew M. Giannettino of Old Bridge, and Doreen Willoughby and her husband, Keith of Staten Island, NY; eight grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 8:30 AM for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at The Parish of St. Mary, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck.  Entombment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, 169 West Main Street, Freehold Township.  For those who desire, memorial contributions in Eleanor’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  For information, directions or to leave condolence messages for the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
