Paul J. Monahan, 85, of Staten Island, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026. Born in Astoria, Queens, Paul spent much of his early life throughout Queens and then moved to Long Island City before settling in Staten Island in 2006. He was a proud graduate of William Cullen Bryant High School in Astoria. Paul dedicated many years of his professional life as a factory worker at Scalamandré in Long Island City, where he specialized in measuring drapes. Earlier in his career, he worked at the Album in College Point, where he was involved in the production of records. In his free time, Paul enjoyed traveling and above all, spending time with his family. Known for his kindness and generosity, he took care of many people throughout his life.

Paul is survived by his cousins, Laura Votapek, Marilyn Meicke, Margaret Schmidit, Frances McGowan, Marilyn Oswald and John Oswald.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM with his funeral service to follow.
