Condolences
As a neighbor of Gertrude from Surrey Downs I met her through my parents when they moved there, I was always happy to see her when she came out of the house, she was so delightful, friendly and with her great sense of humor when we chatted. Always asking for my son, after meeting him during some visits, that she was genuinely interested with him as they talked.
She was plastered with a smile for days when her grandchildren visited. Such a joy of a person, her spirit will be with us forever.
I remember visiting Trudy a number of times when I had business in NYC. I took the train to Elizabeth and Trudy picked me up. One time I showed up at her door after driving from visiting my family in CT with a bouquet of sunflowers I bought at a local nursery. I had dark sunglasses on and Trudy did not recognize me. We laughed about that for years - she brought it up many times. She also loved being called Shirley after Shirley McClain - she does look like her! I remember the smiling and laughter and knowing all the details of all the relatives goings on. Rest in Peace Trudy!!
