Obituary of Gertrude Mary Rogers
Gertrude Mary “Trudy” Rogers, 93, of Marlboro passed away on March 10, 2026, at Sunrise of Marlboro. She was born and raised in Elizabeth and had lived in Howell before settling in Marlboro in 2021. A dedicated nurse throughout her life, Trudy was a graduate of the All Souls Nursing School. Her career as a registered nurse included many years of service at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and culminated in her work for the Elizabeth Public Health Department prior to her retirement. Trudy will be remembered for her love of dancing, her beautiful smile, and her wonderful sense of humor. She was a true people person who always loved to memorialize a good time with a great picture.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Sunrise of Marlboro for their longstanding care and commitment to Trudy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael P. Rogers. Trudy is survived by her four children, Eileen Rogers and her husband, Chris Alfano of Howell, Mick Rogers and his wife, Pam Marrone of Davis, CA, Dr. James Rogers (late wife Jenny) of Tinton Falls and Sharon Manzon and her husband, Howard of Marlboro; five grandchildren, Gracemarie and her husband, Alex, Andrew, Terese, Sara and her husband, Alec and Michael; four great grandchildren, Gregory, Juliana, Norabel and Avery; sister, Grace Brennan and her husband, Hugh.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 12:00 Noon Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Church of St. Gabriel, 100 North Main Street, Marlboro. At the family’s request, family and friends will gather at the church instead of the funeral home. Entombment will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 16, 2026 in Mount Olivet Cemetery, 220 Mt. Olivet Avenue, Newark.
